Carved Horses Skull by Jez Eaton.
For me, beautiful on many levels. It’s direct providence with mortality. Intwined with it’s twin the wonderment of life; rendered tangible by the working of human hands to bring tactile elegance from decay. Flitting between Maori bone carving and the tattooist’s plundering of Dia de los Muertos filigree.
Currently there is no information on the artist’s web site about the piece or the EatonNott project, which in a way is fitting: of unknown origins.
